I am really deeply enjoying a burgeoning aspect of my massage practice, which is these wonderful seniors. Folks in their 60s, 70s, 80s, who are fascinating, grateful, dedicated, hurting, present with the work I do. Terrific receptivity, and patient compliance; and so terrific results. Sure I love my high functioning clients, who share about their exhausting commutes to Japan to participate in internationally funded neutrino experiments; or to Kabul to teach website design (under armed protection) to women, or who hike the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal— But I love these wonderful elders for whom a little bodywork goes such a <<long>> way. EG, getting them walking again. Kind mutual gratitude grows quickly with them, as the desire for healing & for the joys of physical mobility is mutual.   ♥ ♥ ♥

First post-op session

Just finished up an arduous but rewarding 3 day stint of lots of massages. One of the really gratifying ones was a man who just had serious spinal surgery–I was chosen to be his first post-op session. Honored. We had a wonderful, relaxing dialog about aging, the medical system in the US, titanium, the trachia and esophagus, thermal conductivity of materials, roller blade manufacture… And then peaceful silence, with serene music. I really ♥ ♥ ♥ my work and all its facets.
